The Witcher Case: Making a Viral Video from a Game Universe
Breaking down the creation of an entertainment demo video: a Witcher group chat with a conspiracy, drama, and Gwent
The Witcher Case: Making a Viral Video from a Game Universe
Not all demo videos are about bots. Soberi Demku is a tool for creating any scenario in the Telegram interface. Including entertainment content.
We made a video based on the "Assassinate Radovid" quest from The Witcher 3 — and it became one of the most popular examples in our gallery.
The Script: A Conspiracy on Telegram
Four characters — Dijkstra, Roche, Thaler, and Geralt — discuss a plan to eliminate the mad King Radovid in a group chat titled "Down with Radovid!"
Part 1: The Conspiracy. Dijkstra gathers everyone and lays out the plan. Thaler describes the pyres in Novigrad. Roche says to act in secret. Geralt agrees. 11 pre-posted messages that the camera scrolls through in 2.25 seconds.
Part 2: The Betrayal. The next day, Geralt writes: "You know... I'm not feeling this." Roche is surprised. Thaler is furious. Dijkstra is blunt.
Part 3: Gwent. Geralt types a @maps_bot query "where to play Gwent" and sends a button to the chat: "Open App." Classic Geralt.
Why This Works
Recognizable context. The "Assassinate Radovid" quest is one of the most memorable in The Witcher 3. Gamers recognize it instantly.
Recontextualization. A medieval conspiracy in a Telegram interface is inherently funny. Dijkstra planning a coup d'état in a messenger is a meme in itself.
Punchline. Geralt derailing the conspiracy for a game of Gwent is a canonical meme from the game. Fans know that Geralt can offer a round of Gwent in any situation, no matter how inappropriate.
What We Used
Dark theme. The Witcher is dark fantasy. Telegram's dark theme reinforces the atmosphere.
Character avatars. Each chat member has a recognizable portrait from the game. This immediately sets the context.
Scroll + live messages. The conspiracy is shown via pre-posted message scroll. The betrayal and Gwent — via live messages with delays. The viewer feels the pause between "I'm not feeling this" and the others' reactions.
Witcher soundtrack. The ambient is a track from the game's OST. Sets the mood from the first second.
Inline bot. Geralt types @maps_bot in the input field — the viewer sees the typing animation, then the button. It looks exactly like real Telegram.
The Viral Video Formula
This case demonstrates a formula that can be replicated for any universe:
- Take recognizable characters — from a game, movie, anime, book
- Place them in an unexpected context — a messenger instead of a medieval castle
- Add a punchline — an unexpected twist at the end
- Use authentic styling — theme, avatars, sounds should maintain the illusion
Examples for other universes:
- Star Wars — Palpatine creates "Order 66" group chat and instructs the clones
- Lord of the Rings — The Fellowship discusses the route to Mordor, Boromir suggests "just using the Ring"
- Breaking Bad — Walter White negotiating with Gus Fring in a chat
Try It
